Diversity is one of Marsden’s six core values. We firmly believe that we all rise in supporting equality.

We want to be part of an equal, inclusive, and diverse global legal community. We are committed to attracting, recruiting, developing, and retaining a wide diversity of individuals in our own business as well as partnering with our clients to ensure they achieve their own diversity and inclusion goals.

Monitoring: We monitor the diversity of candidate populations and we are committed to ensuring that all prospective applicants are treated equally, without discrimination because of gender, sexual orientation, marital or civil partner status, gender reassignment, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, disability, or age.

As part of our registration process we may ask our candidates to complete a short monitoring form. All information supplied is treated in the strictest confidence and held in accordance with our privacy notice. As a thank you, for every completed form Marsden receive back we pledge to plant five trees via our partnership with JUST ONE Tree.

Campaigns & Outreach: We host a regular programme of focused events to support and promote organic diversity in law firms; more details can be found on our Insights page. We are also building links with organisations which promote greater diversity and inclusion in the legal sector.

Internal: All new employees are required to attend our internal D&I training. We conduct our own internal diversity monitoring report annually; the 2024 report can be read here. The statistics reflect the data declared by our people in February 2024 –  the key monitoring points of which are below.
