Marsden firmly believes in conducting business in a manner which achieves sustainable growth whilst demonstrating a high degree of internal and external social responsibility and the utmost care for our environment.

Environmental Policy

In all of our global offices we wholly support and comply with—or exceed—the requirements of current environmental legislation and codes of practice. We ensure that both our employees and our external suppliers understand our environmental policy and conform to the high standard it requires.  Other elements of our environmental policy include supporting forest regeneration not-for-profits and an electric car scheme in the UK. From 2024 we will be carbon-offsetting for all domestic and international flights taken by our employees.

Social Commitment

Diversity & Inclusion: Diversity is one of Marsden’s six core values. We firmly believe that we all rise in supporting equality and want to be part of an equal, inclusive, and diverse global legal community. Please find out more on our Diversity & Inclusion page.

Charities and Volunteering: As well as supporting a wide range of charities annually, several of our offices take part in corporate volunteering initiatives.

Employee Wellbeing: In addition to encouraging our employees to give back to the community, we are committed to promoting their well-being. This includes virtual workshops, webinars, and an app to help our employees feel happy, healthy and productive. Other initiatives include flexible working as standard; coaching, training and mentoring; and everyone receives an additional day’s annual leave on their birthdays.

Corporate Governance

We are committed to conducting business in an honest and ethical manner and take a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption in all of our global offices. We always act professionally, fairly and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, wherever it operates, and implement and enforce effective systems to counter bribery. We ensure that our clients, candidates and suppliers are protected at all times via our corporate policies on data retention, cybersecurity, and privacy which can be viewed here.

We operate as an Employee Ownership Trust, meaning that we are effectively owned by our employees, which provides them with certainty and clarity over the long term and enables us to retain our independence, unique culture, and values. The Trust is overseen by an independent Trustee who ensures that business is being conducted in our employees’ best interests. future strategic direction. Our annual accounts are audited and published for maximum transparency.
